Mission to Gabon
Current project: Construction of orphanages
The mission to Gabon is in the process of being implemented. Our CADCA committee (Committee for Development Assistance on the African Continent) has received a request for assistance from a Gabonese non-profit organization. Our committee is studying the various options for providing the assistance the children need.
We are currently in discussions with companies to help us carry out this project as quickly as possible.

According to Gabonese civil society, "60% of Gabonese people live below the poverty line. That's the reality." Marc Ona Essangui, member of Gabonese civil society. Mr. Marc Ona Essangui is an anti-poverty activist in Gabon. This affects nearly two-thirds of Gabonese citizens. According to the World Bank, the population survives on just $8.26 CAD, $5.76 USD, or €5.33 (3,500 FCFA) per day. That's approximately $247 CAD, $178 USD, or €159.90 per month.
The unemployment rate is one of the highest in the world, at over 37% of the population.
What do Gabonese people need?
For now, "the Gabonese lack everything," notes Laurence Dong of the Tournons la Page collective. "There's a housing deficit, an infrastructure deficit, a university deficit..."
Almost everything we can imagine or think about, the Gabonese people are currently lacking. According to LBV NEWS, the Gabonese people truly lack everything, but above all, they lack, among other things, "access to food, clean water, and decent housing... Access to adequate healthcare and quality education." These are the two objectives our organization has decided to address.
We currently have emissaries in Gabon analyzing the situation and the children's most urgent needs. Our project is to build an orphanage so that the children have access to food, clean water, healthcare, decent housing, and an adequate education in line with the reality of Gabon, every day.
